See, God Can Do Miracles!

It was a Monday morning when we received the news that the 12-year-old daughter of a Casa Chiri board member had suffered what seemed to be signs of a stroke after a soccer game.  An email announcement came out and we all began praying.   We prayed for this precious little girl on Monday with the 1st-3rd graders at Kids Club and then again on Tuesday with the 4th and 5th graders.  However, we had a pleasant surprise when we asked for prayer volunteers on Tuesday afternoon.  Almost all of the Kids Club children wanted to pray aloud for the this young lady. What is sometimes a struggle for quiet, focus and repectfulness became a very sincere and heartfelt time that was filled with concern and compassion for a girl whom they hardly even knew.  One by one, the children took their turns and prayed for the recovery of this little girl.  They even spent their free time making a “get well” card for her.  We continued our prayers for the family on Wednesday.   Thursday came and we announced to the 4th and 5th graders that the young girl was fine and she was going home.  They were all so excited for her and wanted to know when she was going to come visit them at Kids Club.   In the midst of the excitement Emily overheard one of the children lean over and whisper to her neighbor, “See, God can do miracles!”  There is something to be said for having faith like a child for when children pray, they often believe that God can move mountains.  The pureness of their hearts reaches to the heavens and when a response comes, there is no hesitation in giving God the glory for what He has done.
