Fit for a Teen

This year we’ve welcomed a variety of teachers and studied a host of themes in our Monday night series with the hopes of sparking our students’ interest in new topics and hobbies. In May, we welcomed Colleen Glisson as our instructor for three evenings to explore topics of nutrition and exercise. We did squats and burpees, competed in trivia games about serving sizes, carbs, and proteins, and we cooked a full chicken dinner. Our students were delightfully competitive and did quite well in their nutrition trivia, but many of them still have a lot to learn about cutting mango, carrots, and pineapple. We are thankful to Colleen for giving freely of her time and knowledge, and I am hopeful that we will move into summer knowing a little bit more about healthy eating and exercise.
