Spring has finally sprung!

Casa Chirilagua

I am happy to report on March 15th, Casa Chirilagua hosted the first ever bilingual 8 Key Components of CCD training and it was a huge success, thanks to the many volunteers and supporters who helped make it happen. Together, we hosted a wonderfully diverse gathering of neighbors, volunteers, and newcomers to the Casa family who were courageous to engage the language and cultural barriers in order to listen to each other and learn together about wholistic ministry which includes putting Christ’s love at the center, embracing the hard work of real reconciliation, making redistribution of skills and resources a priority, facilitating power transfers to empower the community and investing in the development of local leaders.

At the conclusion of the training, when I was exhausted from a long day of facilitating and teaching a friend of seven years and mother from the neighborhood approached me with a big smile on her face, threw her arms around me and with a slight Spanish accent said, “I love you. I love you. I love you.” That communicated everything I needed to hear and I knew the day was a success.

After a long arduous winter, Spring has finally sprung and we are Springing to Action on April 9th! Many of you remember Spring2Action from the past 2 years. It has become a mechanism the Lord uses to miraculously supply a significant portion of the Casa Chirilagua annual budget. This year we are celebrating 7 years of presence in the neighborhood and our goal is to raise $70,000 from 700 individuals.

In addition to the fundraising effort, we are covering the day in 24 hours of prayer asking supporters near and far to sign up for 30 minute slots and pray for Casa Chirilagua’s work and ministry. We believe God moves mountains through faith and prayer. Please sign up for a prayer slot today: bit.ly/prayapril9

If you are excited about what God is doing through Casa Chirilagua, please Spring2Action by donating on April 9th, sharing with your networks, wearing your Casa tshirt, praying for Casa, and celebrating with us.

We are are so grateful for the entire Casa family who keeps the work and ministry of Casa moving. With God’s help we are doing it together because Mi Casa es Su Casa!
