Kids Club program info


WHEN Monday–Friday; 3–5:15 pm
COMMITMENT 1 day per week for 1.5–2 hours; On-going
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide elementary school children with reading assistance, assist with homework or lead a learning activity by bringing your skills to the table
ADDITIONAL NEED Volunteers once a month for Friday field trips, 2:50–6:00pm

 

Teens Club program info


WHEN: Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 5–7 pm
COMMITMENT 1 day per week for 2 hours; On-going
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide Middle School students with homework assistance, help facilitate small group discussion for emotional development curriculum, participate in games and activities on Fridays.

 

Mentoring program info


WHEN: Decided between mentor and mentees family
COMMITMENT 1 hour per week; minimum one year commitment
RESPONSIBILITIES Mentor and tutor a student (elementary or middle school) one-on-one supporting their personal and academic development.

 

Teen Bible Studies program info


WHEN: Thursdays; 6:30–8:30 pm weekly
COMMITMENT 2 hours weekly for the duration of the school year with an annual retreat; On-going
RESPONSIBILITIES Join a team of leaders to help lead a weekly Bible study for neighborhood teens. There are two Bible studies – one for girls and one for boys.

 

Family Dinner Night overview of adult programs


WHEN: One Friday per month (generally third Friday of the month); 5–8pm
COMMITMENT 3 hours; one time
RESPONSIBILITIES Serve the community together with your friends, small group or colleagues by preparing and serving dinner for Kids Club students and their families.

 

Adult English Class (¡Yo hablo inglés!) overview of adult programs


WHEN: Tuesday and Wednesday, 7–9 pm
COMMITMENT 2 hours per week, fall and/or spring semesters
RESPONSIBILITIES Support the learning of basic oral English skills for the adults in the community through teaching a class, being a teacher’s assistant, or through admin support.

 

Adult Spanish Literacy overview of adult programs


WHEN: Monday–Thursday, 5:30–7:30pm
COMMITMENT 1 day per week for 1 hour, fall and/or spring semesters
RESPONSIBILITIES Tutor adults in basic reading and writing skills in Spanish. Spanish proficiency required, experience in literacy tutoring preferred. This program is just in beginning stages and we are looking for interested volunteers to help us launch it.

 

Adult Computer Literacy overview of adult programs


WHEN: Seasonal
COMMITMENT 2 hours per week, 4 weekly classes per semester; Seasonal
RESPONSIBILITIES Teach basic computer skills to adults in Spanish. Spanish proficiency required; experience teaching computer skills preferred but not required.

 

Summer Kids Club


WHEN: Monday–Friday; 3–5:15 pm
COMMITMENT One day per week for 1.5–2 hours; Seasonal
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide elementary school children with reading assistance, assist with homework or lead a learning activity by bringing your skills to the table. Occasional field trips.

 

Summer Teens Club


WHEN: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; 11 am–2 pm
COMMITMENT 1 day per week for 3 hours; Seasonal
RESPONSIBILITIES Provide middle school student with positive summer role models, engage in games, emotional development lessons, team building, art projects, and weekly field trips.
