Let’s start the year off with celebration! I am happy to report that Casa Chirilagua supporters not only met the 2011 year-end $15,000 match but exceeded it by $8,000. In December alone, the Lord provided a total of $23,000 in new gifts.  If we include the match, that comes to $38,000. We want to say thank you to God for His amazing provision and thank you to all of Casa’s generous supporters.

As we look ahead to 2012, we are excited about what is in store. We still have funding to raise for the 2012 program year; however, we have faith that God will provide for the work He has set before us. In addition to maintaining our current programs of Kids Club, Leaders In Training, Indigenous Leader Development and Bible Study, in 2012 we hope to expand our Mentoring program by adding a full-time employee to oversee the soon to be 60 one-to-one relationships. We also plan to expand student academic support to 6th and 7th grade students as we add a Middle School program component in the summer/fall.

In 2012 we look forward to the growth of new community partnerships as well as the strengthening of those existing. We are thankful for the many community resources that continue to come our way and are particularly grateful for the numerous committed volunteers who are the backbone of our programs. At the end of the day, relationships to God and one another are what we are all about and we look forward to welcoming many more volunteers into the family in the coming year.
