Dear Casa Chiri Family,
D’s Corner: Go Time!
It’s “Go Time” for the 2012-2013 school year, and we are knee deep in the back-to-school hustle and bustle. Following a little break in August, it feels good to have our programs back up and running. On Monday, September 10th, we kicked off Kids Club with a record 40 students who will be attending five days per week. Julio Hernandez, Kids Club Director, and Tim Kuhn, Assistant Kids Club Director, are doing a fantastic job running the program with Emily’s guidance and assistance while she transitions to a full-time position as the mentoring coordinator. The new Middle School Program, at GW Middle School, directed by Ms. Adriana Gomez took off on September 17th. The students have decided on a program name, Teens Club. We are so happy to be back in a routine in which we see our students every day!
I am incredibly thankful for the Casa Chiri staff team. They are talented, passionate and committed to the Casa Chiri mission.
With all of this growth, we have to raise the funds to keep these wonderful programs going for our students and their families. Our fundraising team is planning an event for November. Please stay on the look-out for more details to come in our October newsletter. We are so thankful for our many supporters and volunteers who make all of our Casa Chirilagua programs possible.
Here’s to a fantastic 2012-2013 school year!
Blessings,
Dawnielle
