We welcome our New Executive Director Hjarman Cordero. Hjarman, pronounced “Harman,” as he wishes to be known in the community. He is a seasoned professional with 30 years of experience. Some of his experience includes working with Christian organizations in the US and South America and 17 years serving in local government in the United States.
Hjarman’s academic qualifications are a testament to his expertise. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from his country, Venezuela; a Graduate Certificate in Bible and Theology from Columbia International University; a Graduate Certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion from Cornell University, and is a candidate for a master’s in Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University. These qualifications underscore his deep understanding of Christian ministry and his commitment to ongoing learning.
Hjarman is delighted to have the opportunity to serve in the Chirilagua community and is excited to help people experience a life-changing transformation through Jesus Christ. His primary goal is to foster Leadership, creativity and teamwork while empowering individuals and families to thrive spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. His commitment is a testament to his understanding of The Christian ethos of Casa Chirilagua and his dedication and care for the community’s success.
Thirty one years ago, Hjarman committed to following Christ and to loving people. Since then, he has served as a missionary, pastor, church leader, and encourager to others serving in Christian ministry worldwide. He and his wife Heidi are the proud parents of two adult daughters, one serving in Christian Ministry in Australia and the other serving the community in Maryland.
Hajrman will be operating under the guiding principle of 1 Peter 4:10-11: Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ…
