D’s Corner

Dear Casa Chiri Family,

This year for Springbreak, the staff intend to do exactly that…take a break. Emily will be off to El Salvador for her sister-in-law’s wedding, Dawnielle will be heading to Ecuador to rest and do some mission work with Casa Victoria (http://www.casav.org), Sarah is going to England to visit family, and Brenda will be holding down the fort.   The offices and programs will be quiet for the next few weeks; however, there will be plenty of activity upon our return and we hope that you will join us! In addition to regular programming, we’ll be taking our Middle School girls to a teen conference in Baltimore on April, 27th and 28th.  We still have $220 to raise for this event. Please let us know if you would like to contribute for the event by sending an email to dawnielle@casachirilagua.org.
On May 2nd Casa Chirilagua will be participating in the Spring2ACTion Alexandria online donor drive. This will be our first year to participate in this online giving campaign. Casa Chirilagua will be competing against other non-profits throughout the city of Alexandria and Casa Chirilagua has the chance to win up to $30,000 in grants and prizes.  We have set a goal of raising $15,000 through the campaign.  Contributions will help fund the launch our Middle School program this coming fall. We are asking people who are volunteers, donors, and fans of Casa Chirilagua to save the date and help promote this giving event by tweeting, posting on Facebook, promoting it on blogs and reaching out to friends and family to support the campaign.  You can learn more about how to get involved by visiting our webpage or visiting us on Razoo. Because we are such a grassroots organization we think we have a good chance at winning some of the prize money but we need your support to help make it happen! Don’t be surprised if you get multiple messages and reminders from us during the last week of April. If you would like to set a personal fundraising goal as a supporter of Casa Chirilagua, please email sarah@casachirilagua.org to let her know how you would like to get involved.
We pray you have a blessed Easter celebration with friends and family as we celebrate the hope we find in our risen Lord.
Many Blessings,

Dawnielle,

As a faith-based Christian non-profit with a small staff and over 100 volunteers, we serve alongside more than 100 families and their children (1st-12th grades) each week through our community programs.

Our relational network of volunteers and donors reflects a diverse group of individuals from all over the Washington, D.C. metro area. As a non-profit, we rely on the community for assisting program directors on-site, being mentors, supplying the needs of our food pantry, and everything in between. Each member of our Casa community holds a unique gift, whether time, talent or treasure.
