Middle School Boys Bible Study

2012 Middle School Boys Bible Study

Over the 2012 summer, Monday Night Bible Study leader recruitment efforts were in full swing. We were cutting it close on time but by September we had assembled a team of leaders for the Middle School Boys Bible study: Matt Hoppe, Austin Clemens, Brad Nelson and Parker Clemens.

They have shown up every Monday evening at 6:30pm to play soccer with their boys, purchase and feed them pizza and lead the group in “A Warrior’s Liturgy” from week to week. Though they have encountered the challenges of working with middle school boys, they have been dedicated and faithful for the entire school year.

For their weekly commitment to lead and disciple these young men, we name Matt Hoppe, Austin Clemens, Brad Nelson and Parker Clemens our June 2013 volunteers of the month.

We are a community of people “learning together to love our neighbors as ourselves” in a Latino neighborhood in Alexandria, Virginia.

As a faith-based Christian non-profit with a small staff and over 100 volunteers, we serve alongside more than 100 families and their children (1st-12th grades) each week through our community programs.

Our relational network of volunteers and donors reflects a diverse group of individuals from all over the Washington, D.C. metro area. As a non-profit, we rely on the community for assisting program directors on-site, being mentors, supplying the needs of our food pantry, and everything in between. Each member of our Casa community holds a unique gift, whether time, talent or treasure.
