The Fly Guy Writes Back!

Apr 9, 2016

With the help of a wonderful Kids Club volunteer, Mr. John Perlman, two of our Kids Club students wrote to Author Tedd Arnold who wrote “The Fly Guy” book series. His series happens to be a favorite among our Kids Club students. Over John’s many years of working with children, he has helped several children write to their favorite authors but has rarely received a response. His hopes to hear from Mr. Arnold were very low and he was trying to help the boys manage their expectations as well. John commented, “I honestly didn’t think we would hear anything but the kids kept holding out faith and they were sure Mr. Arnold would respond to their letter.”

Lo and behold, Mr. Arnold responded with signed book markers, a hand written letter and Fly Guy books! These two boys were over the moon!

Thank you Mr. Perlman for taking the time to help these happy students write their letters.  Thank you Mr. Arnold for creating books our students are excited to read and for flaming that passion by reading their letter and writing back!
